"Two weeks together, that's all it took, 2 weeks for me to fall for you."
Pretty sure that's the most significant line anyone can remember from the movie.

Caught Dear John, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. Really sweet and romantic I got to say.

*spoiler alert*

The entire movie is about this guy called John (Channing Tatum) who's a soldier home on leave, meeting a college student Savannah (Amanda Seyfried) and falling in love with her over the spring vacation. Just a short 2 weeks, and they were deeply in love. To keep in touch with each other, because John is heading back to the army and is deployed to some other countries, they wrote letters to each other to inform each other about what's happening in their lives. Over a period of 7 years, they have been writing letters, meeting each other during short breaks.

Eventually, Savannah couldn't take it anymore, and wrote a letter to break-up with John. The real reason was because Tim, a friend of Savannah and John has gotten cancer and is going to die. He actually likes Savannah, so she obliged and married him, to also take care of his autistic kid, Alan. Eventually John found out, and because his dad who died, was a coin collector with a huge collection. He sold all the coins except one, the one John found when he was a kid, to enable Tim to live longer in this world. John said, "I finally understood what true love meant...love meant that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be." Really really heart-warming to see how he could give up his true love to fulfill a dýing man's wish. Although the ending was not to my expectation, probably because the first 2 weeks in the movie was really well done and I was expecting too much, it still wrapped up the entire show pretty well.

Definitely a show that's comparable to Sister's Keeper. Lots of scenes which makes you want to cherish whatever you have now, and be fulfilled.

Some memorable quotes that I can still remember:

"When you're struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it's just as hard as what you're going through."

"It doesn't matter where you are, because the moon is never bigger than your thumb."

Storyline: 8/10
Comments: I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know if the movie is as good as the book, or like most movies based on novels, a let-down. Shall read the book soon! Oh, and $6 is definitely worth it, to see the hot Channing Tatum half naked and his wonderful acting!
