Saturday, January 9, 2010 Are Men and Women Really Equal? Being a man is seriously quite a task! Ladies, don't tell me about going through a pregnancy or your monthly problem, because insane pain isn't what I'm trying to talk about here. I've been seriously thinking about this issue since people are saying that I'm not a gentleman blah blah blah..... Not that I care what they think, but I feel that there's an explanation to be made about this. Women have always wanted the equality in mankind, that they have the same reason to live as men, and they aren't inferior. Women in the past are always the "Xiao Nu Ren" (the woman behind a successful man) type, and perhaps it's due to the fact that most men eventually have a mistress that leads them to think that equality is important. Yet, women always dream of finding a rich, good-looking, gentlemanly, loving and many other perfect traits kind of boyfriend. Yes ladies, you can always dream! But sorry to burst your bubble, most of it happens either in your dream or on foolish taiwan, korean or japaneseTV serials. Maybe just a minority has the chance to fulfill the dream. Isn't it kind of contradicting if you want to be equal but still want to be treated like a princess? Face it! Equality comes with a price to pay! Or if you're not one of those who's not thinking about equality, that doesn't give you a reason to act like a princess too! So stop talking crap about, "Why you so ungentleman one?", or "Shouldn't you be paying for this meal?", "Why you never open the door for me/ pull the chair for me?" Apparently you're the one who asked for equality, so stop complaining. It's not that men hate being a gentleman, but not for every occasion! Yes, I would agree to the opening of doors while letting ladies exit first. But pulling out a chair? Well, there are waiters to do it for you, if not can't you do it yourself? What are your hands used for? So what if you just had your manicure? I thought we're equal!??? Paying for the meal on a date is fine,, but at least have the gesture to suggest going dutch or say a "Thank You!", most men would be glad to pay the tab after that. Not on every date though, I personally would feel that you're out on a date with me because you're SO POOR that you can't afford anything and wants me to pay for EVERYTHING. So about the issue that whatever we do that is not to a lady's liking would be deemed as ungentlemanly, than that's too bad. Not much of gentlemen are left in Singapore, if not you ladies would always be able to get seats on trains and buses, ladies will always be first in queues for taxis and supermarkets because everyone of us are practicing to be the perfect gentleman. Just don't ask for too much! I'm pretty much not a gentleman, nor am I rich. I'm just trying to be fair! You asked for what you want, you get it. I'm not a chauvinist as well, I do ask for suggestions and opinions most of the time. What? Can't I make the decisions sometimes? You ladies also make decisions and stand by it without the consent of the guys anyways, so you don't really have a say! It's just that if you're still dreaming, maybe you can go look for the traditional type of guy who might or most probably WILL get a mistress in the future. Before the mistress is announced, you'll definitely look good when you're out with friends, but after that, I don't even think most of them will want to hang out with you anymore, since you're so stupid to can't even notice that your other half is having an affair. If you think that you're better than men, perhaps when you go on dates, you might want to consider pulling out the chair for your male date, holding the door open for him, and also paying for the meal as well instead of going dutch. If you're able to do that, you might be the higher authority. If not, you're better off in your own dream, where you're so much more superior and all men are begging for you to be with them! Yes ladies, if you're unhappy with it, you can choose to keep it to yourself, don't bombard me with all your crazy comments. If you think that you're superior, prove it, if not, STFU! I'm not trying to defend the men here, but just voicing my own opinions. Perhaps some guys might be thinking that he's an exception, that he's a gentleman, perhaps you can consider don't ever sit down in buses and trains since you're such a gentleman to let ladies sit! If not STFU too! You're plainly trying to be a chauvinist, and say that you're better than everyone else! In the case of jobs or occupations, most jobs that women handles, men are able to do them too. But jobs that men are doing, not all women are able to handle. Sewing and designing of clothes used to be women's best job, but now, there are famous male designers too. However, doing construction work, I haven't had the chance to see any ladies doing the job. Correct me if I'm wrong, or if you've heard of jobs that women does, and no men are doing it. Or unique jobs for males in the past, that has females working on it now. Prove me Wrong!
